questions.
Dr.
Bobby Grossi performs a variety of oral surgery
procedures, but specialize in those that are relative
to the most common dental surgeries: wisdom teeth
removal, root canal therapy and dental implants.
Wisdom
teeth are the last or third set of molars in your
mouth. If they’re not removed in time, they
will erupt, usually during the late teens or twenties.
Wisdom teeth get their name because they typically
come later than regular permanent teeth.
While
some will grow up fortunate enough to keep their
wisdom teeth without problems, and some will grow
up without having any wisdom teeth at all, others
will grow up and their wisdom teeth will not. And
what that means is the wisdom teeth or tooth will
stay impacted in the jaw, likely causing headaches,
infection of the gums, tooth decay or destruction
of the jawbone. When wisdom teeth remain impacted,
they’re likely to grow improperly. That’s
why it’s important to maintain regular dentist
appointments so the development of your wisdom teeth
can be monitored.
When
it comes to missing teeth, Dr. Bobby Grossi has
a variety of solutions, but specialize in dental
implants. While some may be in situations more severe,
others may only need a single tooth implant. When
you lose a tooth, biting and other strenuous activity
in the mouth could cause the teeth around the gap
to shift. In some cases, the teeth surrounding the
space where the old tooth once sat may even extrude
from the socket, which means those teeth, too, could
eventually fall out. Loosing teeth may also make
chewing food more difficult, which can ultimately
affect the jaw. That’s why it is important
to have a tooth replaced immediately after it falls
out.
Other
than the obvious benefits, implants are nearly indistinguishable
from natural teeth and in most cases, appear better
in appearance than older teeth that have been through
decades of chewing, staining and normal wear and
tear.
At
Gateway Dental, your smile and comfort are most
important to the staff. Oral surgery can often times
be painful. Seeking the right dentist to successfully
solve your problems while keeping you comfortable
can be tough. Dr. Bobby Grossi is trained and certified
in nearly every form of oral surgery.
